Rock climbing guide

Lake District Rock Climbing Experience

This is all about the mountaineering experience. Spending a day out in the mountains with a technical expert, someone that lives and breathes climbing. Our rock-climbing guides will take care of all the technical aspects while you simply enjoy the climbing! We will take you to the best crags and select the finest routes, this experience will have you hooked. Climbing can be a life-style choice, be warned, this could be addictive!

Is this for me?

Yes, it certainly is! With a reasonable level of fitness and a head for heights, you will get on just fine. Our guides can adjust the itinerary to suit your fitness and desired level of exertion.

Do I need to be a rock climber already?

No, this can be a day for the complete novice. We can show you the skills as you go, it’s all about just loving being out in the mountains. We take care of the technical side and ensure your safety; you just enjoy the day.

What do I need?

Clothing to cope with the weather, be it hot or cold, some waterproofs just in case. If you have your own climbing gear, then bring it along and we can advise accordingly. Items like; helmet, harness and climbing shoes would be great, but we can supply those if needed. Just ask when we are organising your day. Good footwear, approach shoes or sturdy training shoes that you find comfortable.

Where do we go?

We will normally run this experience from Great Langdale valley, this gives us access to some fantastic climbing locations:  Gimmer Crag, Pavey Ark and White Ghyll to name a few. We can bring this experience right to you though, let us know where you want to go, and we can meet you there. Wasdale, Coniston, Buttermere... we can tailor this day just for you. Talk to us if you have an idea, or simply leave it up to us to pick the best venue.

We will sort out the details with you and then plan a great day. A quick phone call, or a Zoom meeting will allow us to get a good feel for where we need to pitch the day.
